Controller Anti-Lock Brake Verification Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect all previously disconnected components and connectors. Ensure all accessories are turned off and battery is fully charged. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, erase DTCs from all modules. Start engine. Allow engine to run 2 minutes. Fully operate system that was malfunctioning.
  2. Turn ignition off. Wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read DTCs from all modules. If scan tool shows any stored DTCs, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  and SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION  tables under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If scan tool does not show any stored DTCs, road test vehicle for at least 5 minutes. Perform several anti-lock braking stops. If any DTCs set during road test, refer to symptom list for further testing. If DTCs did not set during road test and customer's concern can no longer be duplicated, repair is complete.
