Sentry Key Immobilizer System Verification Test
- Inspect vehicle to ensure that all components are properly installed and connected. Obtain vehicle's unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) assigned to SKIM from vehicle owner or manufacturer. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, SKIM, MISCELLANEOUS, then select desired procedure and follow scan tool prompts.
- If SKIM has been replaced, ensure all ignition keys are programmed to new SKIM. Using scan tool, erase DTCs from all modules. Perform 5 ignition cycles, leaving key on for at least 90 seconds per cycle. Using scan tool, read SKIM DTCs. If no SKIM DTCs exist, repair is complete. If any SKIM DTCs are stored, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION and SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION tables under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
