Passenger Door Lock Switch Input Open
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off. Monitor DTCs on scan tool. Operate door locks from passenger's door lock switch. If PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SWITCH INPUT OPEN resets, go to next step. If PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SWITCH INPUT OPEN does not reset, system is operating properly at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits.
- Using scan tool, select SENSORS. Monitor PASS DOOR LOCK SW voltage. If voltage is greater than 4.6 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4.6 volts or less, replace Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Disconnect passenger's door lock switch connector. See Figure . To access connector, door lock switch will need to be removed. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER DOOR LOCKS & LIFTGATE RELEASE - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, probe power door lock switch connector terminal No. 3 (Black/Light Green wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Black/Light Green wire between door lock switch and ground located on right "B" pillar.
- Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and door lock switch connector terminal No. 2 (Violet/Light Green wire). If voltage is 4.6 volts or less, repair open in Violet/Light Green wire between door lock switch and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 22. See Figure . If voltage is greater than 4.6 volts, replace door lock switch.
