Removal (Sebring Convertible, Sebring Sedan & Stratus Sedan)

  1. Fuel level sensor is mounted on fuel pump module. See Fig 1. Remove fuel pump module. See FUEL PUMP MODULE . Depress retaining tab, and disconnect fuel pump and fuel level sensor harness connector from bottom side of fuel pump module harness connector. See Figure.
    CAUTION: Note location of wires for fuel level sensor in harness connector for fuel pump and fuel level sensor for installation reference. Wires must be installed in correct location.
  2. Mark fuel level sensor wire location in fuel pump and fuel level sensor harness connector for installation reference. Wires for fuel level sensor must be removed from electrical connector for fuel pump and fuel level sensor. Remove locking wedge from fuel pump and fuel level sensor harness connector. See Figure.
  3. Using a small screwdriver, remove wires for fuel level sensor from harness connector. Use a screwdriver to move locking tab on fuel level sensor, and slide fuel level sensor down channel to remove from fuel pump module. Slide fuel level sensor wires through opening in fuel pump module.
