Distributor Assembly: Installation

  1. Rotate engine so cylinder No. 1 is at TDC on compression stroke. Cylinder No. 1 is front cylinder on right side when viewed from flywheel end of engine.
  2. Align mating marks on drive coupling and distributor housing. See Fig 1. Install distributor using a NEW "O" ring. Tighten distributor hold-down nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install air intake plenum gasket with protrusion in position shown in illustration. See Fig 2. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
