Front Control Module: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Front Control Module (FCM) is mounted to front of Intelligent Power Module (IPM). See Figure. Remove battery from vehicle. Using a long, flat-blade screwdriver, carefully pry IPM retaining clips to allow IPM to be rotated upward to access FCM.
  2. Remove screws retaining FCM to IPM. Using both hands, pull FCM straight out from IPM connector until FCM is clear of IPM. See Figure. Remove FCM from vehicle.
    NOTE: If vehicle is not equipped with name brand speakers (Infinity, etc.) or headlight washers, the DRBIII®, must be used to disable the appropriate relays in the intelligent power module
