Left Rear Turn Signal Output Open

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs. Activate left turn signals. Recheck for DTCs. If LEFT REAR TURN SIGNAL OUTPUT OPEN resets, go to next step. If LEFT REAR TURN SIGNAL OUTPUT OPEN does not reset, conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits and repair as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove left rear taillight assembly and disconnect connector. Using test light connected to battery voltage, probe left rear taillight connector terminal No. 5 (Black/Dark Green wire). If test light illuminates brightly, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate brightly, repair open or high resistance in Black/Dark Green wire between left rear taillight assembly and ground connection located at left rear corner of vehicle.
  3. Turn ignition on. Activate left turn signals. Using test light connected to ground, probe left rear taillight connector terminal No. 1 (White/Dark Green wire). If test light does not illuminate brightly, go to next step. If test light illuminates brightly, replace left rear turn signal bulb.
  4. Turn ignition off. Locate and disconnect BCM connector C2. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure. Disconnect the left rear tail lamp connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance of White/Dark Green wire between left rear taillight connector and BCM connector C2 terminal No. 2. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Dark Green wire.
