Lock Output Failure

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Using scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Turn ignition on and back off. Monitor DTCs on scan tool. Remove the key and operate power door locks several times from driver's door lock switch. If LOCK OUTPUT FAILURE resets, go to next step. If LOCK OUTPUT FAILURE does not reset, system is operating properly at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits.
  2. Locate and disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C2. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C2 terminals No. 10 (Tan/White wire), No. 11 (Tan/Gray wire), No. 12 (Tan/Dark Blue wire) and No. 18 (Tan/Violet wire). If resistance is 1000 ohms or less at BCM connector terminal No. 11, go to next step. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less at BCM connector terminal No. 12, go to step  4. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less at BCM connector terminal No. 10, go to step  5. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less at BCM connector terminal No. 18, go to step  6. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms at all terminals, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Disconnect passenger's door lock motor/ajar switch connector. See Figure. To access connector, door panel will need to be removed. For removal and installation procedures, see POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C2 terminal No. 11 (Tan/Gray wire). If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/Gray wire. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace door lock motor/ajar switch.
  4. Disconnect right sliding door lock motor/ajar switch connector. See Figure. To access connector, door panel will need to be removed. See POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C2 terminal No. 12 (Tan/Dark Blue wire). If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/Dark Blue wire. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace door lock motor/ajar switch.
  5. Disconnect driver's door lock motor/ajar switch connector. See Figure. To access connector, door panel will need to be removed. For removal and installation procedures, see POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C2 terminal No. 10 (Tan/White wire). If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/White wire. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace door lock motor/ajar switch.
  6. Disconnect left sliding door lock motor/ajar switch connector. See Figure. To access connector, door panel will need to be removed. See POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C2 terminal No. 12 (Tan/Violet wire). If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/Violet wire. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace door lock motor/ajar switch.
