Left B Pillar Switch Input Short

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Turn ignition off. Wait approximately 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Operate power sliding door from "B" pillar switch. Recheck for DTCs. If LEFT B PILLAR SWITCH INPUT SHORT resets, go to next step. If LEFT B PILLAR SWITCH INPUT SHORT does not reset, system is operating properly at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits.
  2. Carefully remove and disconnect "B" pillar switch connector. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Turn ignition off. Wait approximately 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Wait approximately 10 more seconds. Recheck for DTCs. If LEFT B PILLAR SWITCH INPUT OPEN does not set, go to next step. If LEFT B PILLAR SWITCH INPUT OPEN sets, replace "B" pillar switch.
  3. Locate and disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C3. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 18 (Violet/Dark Green wire). If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Violet/Dark Green wire. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
