Front Wiper On Relay Short To Batt

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition off. Remove wiper on/off relay from Intelligent Power Module (IPM). See Figure. Locate and disconnect Front Control Module (FCM). See FRONT CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and wiper on/off relay cavity terminal No. 85 in IPM. If voltage is one volt or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than one volt, repair short to voltage in circuit between wiper on/off relay and FCM connector terminal No. 34. See Figure.
  2. Install a known-good wiper on/off relay. Turn ignition on. Turn wipers on. If wipers do not operate properly, replace FCM. If wipers operate properly, replace wiper on/off relay.
