Right Rear Turn Signal Output Open

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs. Activate left turn signals. Recheck for DTCs. If RIGHT REAR TURN SIGNAL OUTPUT OPEN resets, go to next step. If RIGHT REAR TURN SIGNAL OUTPUT OPEN does not reset, conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits and repair as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect right rear taillight assembly and disconnect connector. Using test light connected to battery voltage, probe right rear taillight connector terminal No. 5 (Black/Brown wire). If test light illuminates brightly, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate brightly, repair open or high resistance in Black/Brown wire between right rear taillight assembly and ground connection located at left rear corner of vehicle.
  3. Turn ignition on. Activate right turn signals. Using test light connected to ground, probe right rear taillight connector terminal No. 1 (White/Brown wire). If test light does not illuminate brightly, go to next step. If test light illuminates brightly, replace right rear turn signal bulb.
  4. Turn ignition off. Locate and disconnect BCM connector C2. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance of White/Brown wire between right rear taillight connector and BCM connector C2 terminal No. 4. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Brown wire.
