Driver Door Lock Switch Input Short
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off. Monitor DTCs on scan tool. Operate door locks from driver's door lock switch. If DRIVER DOOR LOCK SWITCH INPUT SHORT resets, go to next step. If DRIVER DOOR LOCK SWITCH INPUT SHORT does not reset, system is operating properly at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits.
- Using scan tool, select SENSORS. Monitor DR DOOR SW MUX voltage. If voltage is 4.6 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 4.6 volts, replace door lock switch.
- Locate and disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C3. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 21 (Violet/Dark Green wire). If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Violet/Dark Green wire between door lock switch and BCM. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
