Air Bag Verification Test

  1. Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components, except the battery.
  2. Connect DRBIII(R) to DLC. Use the most current software available.
    3. WARNING: DO NOT reconnect battery with ignition off.
  3. Turn the ignition on, then reconnect the battery.
  4. Using the DRBIII(R), erase stored DTCs in all air bag system modules.
  5. Turn ignition off, and wait 15 seconds before turning ignition on.
    6. NOTE: If equipped with air bag On/Off switch, read the DTCs in all switch positions. Read the DTCs in all air bag system-related modules.
  6. Wait one minute, then read active DTCs. If no active DTCs are present, read stored DTCs. Are any DTCs present or is the original condition still present? If yes, repair is not complete. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  or SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION  . If no, repair is complete.
