Body Verification Test
- Disconnect all jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components and connectors.
- If SKIM or PCM was replaced, go to step 5 . If SKIM or PCM was not replaced, go to next step.
- If CTM was replaced, turn ignition on for 15 seconds to learn VIN or engine may not start, if equipped with VTSS. If vehicle is equipped with VTSS, use DRBIII(R) to enable VTSS and the EQ setting.
- Program all RKE transmitters and other options as necessary. See PROGRAMMING . Go to step 7 .
- Obtain vehicle's unique PIN assigned to original SKIM from vehicle owner or manufacturer.
- Using the DRBIII(R), select THEFT ALARM, SKIM, MISCELLANEOUS, then SKIM REPLACED. Enter secured access mode by entering the vehicle 4-digit PIN. The DRBIII(R) will prompt for the following:
- Program all customer's keys into SKIM memory.
- Program the vehicle's VIN into the SKIM memory.
- Transfer the vehicle's Secret Key data from the PCM.
See PROGRAMMING .
- Ensure all accessories are turned off and battery is fully charged. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), erase DTCs from all modules.
- Start engine and allow it to run for 2 minutes. Fully operate the system that was malfunctioning. Turn ignition off. Wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), read DTCs from all modules.
- Using DRBIII(R), select HVAC, SYSTEM TESTS, then ACTUATOR CIRCUIT TEST. Actuator Circuit Test must pass before proceeding to next step.
- For 3-Zone HVAC systems, if A/C-Heater Control Module/Rear A/C-Heater Control Module was replaced, Rear Blend Pot circuit open/short DTC was set or any Rear Blend Pot circuit was repaired, proceed as follows:
- If any HVAC Door Actuators were replaced or door linkage was repaired, using DRBIII(R), select HVAC DOOR CALIBRATION.
- Using DRBIII(R), select SYSTEM TESTS, then RESET REAR BLEND SWITCH SPAN.
- Rotate Rear Blend/Mode Control on Rear Blower Rear Control to full cold. Wait 5 seconds, then rotate control to full hot.
- Using the DRBIII(R), read DTCs from all modules. Are any DTCs present or is the original condition still present? If yes, repair is not complete. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS or SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION . If no, repair is complete.
CAUTION:
If 3 attempts are made to enter secured access mode using an incorrect PIN, secured access mode will be locked out for one hour which causes the DRBIII(R) to display BUS +\- SIGNALS OPEN. To exit this mode, turn ignition to the RUN position for one hour.
NOTE:
Once secured access mode is active, the SKIM will remain in that mode for 60 seconds.
