Anti-Lock Brake System Verification Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect all previously disconnected components and connectors. Ensure all accessories are turned off and battery is fully charged. Connect DRBIII(R) to DLC.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), erase DTCs from all modules. Start engine and allow it to run for 2 minutes. Fully operate the system that was malfunctioning.
  3. CAUTION: Ensure braking capability is available before road testing vehicle.
  4. Turn ignition off. Wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), read DTCs from all modules. If any DTCs are present, return to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  and diagnose new or recurring DTC. If no DTCs are present, road test vehicle for at least 5 minutes and perform several anti-lock brake stops.
  5. Turn ignition off. Wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), read DTCs from all modules. Are any DTCs present or is the original condition still present? If yes, repair is not complete. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  or SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION  . If no, repair is complete.
