Self-Diagnostic System: Introduction
Diagnostic procedures are based on the failure condition or symptom being present at the time of diagnosis. Follow the recommendations listed when choosing your diagnostic path.
- Ensure the DRBIII(R) is communicating with the appropriate modules; i.e., if the DRBIII(R) displays a NO RESPONSE or a BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN condition, you must diagnose that first.
- Read DTCs with the DRBIII(R).
- If no DTCs are present, identify the customer complaint.
- Once the DTC or customer complaint is identified, locate the matching test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS to diagnose the failure (DTC) or SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION (customer complaint).
