Programming Powertrain Control Module
- Connect DRB-III(R) to Data Link Connector (DLC). Place transmission in Park or Neutral. Turn the ignition on, with the engine off.
- Using DRB-III(R), select THEFT ALARM, SKIM then MISCELLANEOUS.
- Select PCM REPLACED (GAS ENGINE).
- Enter secured access mode by entering the vehicle four-digit PIN. Reprogram pinion factor and perform shift quality quick learn procedure for TCM. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION.
- If vehicle is not equipped with SKIM, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with SKIM and SKIM has not been replaced, go to UPDATING SECRET KEY DATA . If vehicle is equipped with SKIM and SKIM has been replaced, go to SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER MODULE .
- Press PAGE BACK to get to the SELECT SYSTEM menu, then select ENGINE, MISCELLANEOUS and SRI MILEAGE CHECK.
- The DRB-III(R) will ask IS ODOMETER READING BETWEEN XX & XX? Select NO. DRB-III(R) will display ENTER ODOMETER READING. Enter odometer reading from instrument panel odometer, then press ENTER.
- Using DRB-III(R), clear DTCs from ACM and CAB.
NOTE:
If 3 attempts are made to enter the secure access mode using an incorrect Personal Identification Number (PIN), secured access mode will be locked out for one hour (the vehicle will still run). To exit this lockout mode, turn the ignition to the RUN position for one hour then enter the correct PIN. (Ensure all accessories are turned off. Also, monitor the battery state and connect a battery charger if necessary).
