Powertrain Control Module: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
The 3.9L and 5.9L models are equipped with the Jeep/Truck Engine Controller (JTEC) Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and a separate Transmission Control Module (TCM). The JTEC PCM has 3 harness connectors (Black C1, White C2 and Gray C3). The 4.7L is equipped with a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Transmission Control Module (TCM) incorporated into one control module. The module is the Next Generation Controller (NGC) and will be referred to throughout this article as the PCM. The NGC PCM has 4 harness connectors (Black C1, Gray C2, White C3 and Green C4).
NOTE:
For circuit identification and wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. After each repair procedure has been completed, reconnect all components. Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 to ensure system is functioning properly. See the following:
- On 3.9L or 5.9L, perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 under VERIFICATION TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - DURANGO - 5.9L article.
- On 4.7L, perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 under VERIFICATION TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - DURANGO - 4.7L article.
