Battery Save Mode: Notes

NORMAL OPERATING MODE The battery save mode is enabled by performing the following:

  1. Insert the key into the ignition cylinder.
  2. Cycle the ignition key from OFF to ACC four times without going to the RUN position.
  3. Leave the switch in the OFF position after the fourth cycle. This puts the BCM into the LEARN mode.
  4. Using the drivers door lock switch, UNLOCK the power locks. A single chime and a horn chirp will tell the customer that the battery save mode is being enabled.
  5. Remove the key from the ignition and exit vehicle, closing door but not locking it.
    • VTSS may be armed before the BCM Sleep Mode starts by using the RKE or the door lock switch.
    • Dome lamp battery save will be performed.
    • Headlamp battery save will be performed.
    • Accessory delay will be cancelled.
    • If the driver door window is UP, then Smart Glass will be performed (dropped) on the drivers door and not returned to the up or full closed position.
    • If the ignition is cycled to RUN, then battery save mode will be cancelled.
    • If the key is left in the ignition when the BCM enters sleep mode, then the battery save mode is cancelled.
