Battery Save Feature: Notes

The Battery Save feature provides the customer with the ability to conserve battery power when storing the vehicle for long periods of time without losing radio/Engine Controller memory. This is an alternative to disconnecting the battery. When the feature is performed, the wakeup circuits to the vehicle will be turned off, thus, not allowing an RKE or door entry to work. The only way into the vehicle is using the driver cylinder unlock switch or by pulling the inside handle.

The BCM becomes powered up when the ignition is placed in the RUN Position. This provides power to the BCM IOD input. This input can be powered up manually by providing 12 volts to one of the RUN only fuses (Circuit A21) in the PDC:
