Compass Calibration Procedure (With Compass/Mini-Trip Computer Or Electronic Vehicle Information Center)

Compass variance is the difference between magnetic north and geographic north. To adjust compass variance, set Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) or Compass/Mini-Trip Computer (CMTC) to COMPASS/TEMPERATURE mode and press and hold RESET button until VAR = XX is displayed. Release button. XX indicates current variance setting. Press RESET button to select proper variance zone for your location. See Fig 1. Press RESET button to save new variance zone selection and resume normal CMTC or EVIC operation.
