Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan, 2002 Dodge Caravan, 2002 Chrysler Voyager, and 2002 Chrysler Town & Country. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is located in front of battery. See Figure. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove battery shield from battery.
  2. Remove 2 bolts attaching upper PCM bracket to vehicle. See Fig 1. Remove left front headlight assembly from vehicle by removing 3 retaining screws attaching headlight assembly to vehicle. Disconnect headlight and turn signal/parking light connectors.
  3. Remove lower PCM mounting bolt and disconnect PCM connectors. To install, reverse removal procedure. New PCM must be programmed to prevent DTCs from being set in Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module and Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). See PROGRAMMING .
