NOTE: When this DTC is set, Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) indicator will stay on during VTSS arming process.
NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Cycle the ignition switch from on to off to on. Monitor DTCs on scan tool. Remove the key and operate driver's door cylinder lock switch. If LEFT CYLINDER LOCK SWITCH INPUT SHORT resets, go to next step. If LEFT CYLINDER LOCK SWITCH INPUT SHORT does not reset, system is operating properly at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits.
  2. Using scan tool, select SENSORS. Monitor LEFT CYL SW MUX voltage. If LEFT CYL SW MUX voltage is 4.6 volts or less, go to next step. If LEFT CYL SW MUX voltage is greater than 4.6 volts, replace cylinder lock switch.
  3. Locate and disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C3. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 14 (Violet/Light Blue wire). If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Violet/Light Blue wire between cylinder lock switch and BCM. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
