Sentry Key Immobilizer Module: Installation

NOTE: If the SKIM is replaced with a new unit, a DRB III®scan tool MUST be used to initialize the new SKIM and to program at least two Sentry Key transponders (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM INITIALIZATION ).
  1. Place the SKIM into position.
  2. Rotate the SKIM and its mounting bracket downwards and then to the side towards the steering column (Figure).
  3. Install the two screws securing the SKIM to the top of the steering column (Figure).
  4. Engage the steering column wire harness to the Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) (Figure).
  5. Install the steering column upper and lower shrouds. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the Lower Instrument Panel Cover.
  7. Connect the battery negative cable.
