Diagnostic Test

  1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Using a scan tool, record and erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    3. Operate the Inverter Switch several times.
    4. Cycle the ignition from on to off three times and leave on.
    5. Using a scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display: B1E73-POWER INVERTER ENABLE OUTPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT LOW?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  2

      No 

  2. CHECK FOR A SHORTED POWER INVERTER SWITCH

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Inverter Switch connector.
      NOTE: Check connectors. Clean and repair as necessary.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Using a scan tool, select FCM, then select Data Display, and then read the Inverter Switch state.

      Does the switch state display Not Set?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  3
  3. CHECK (P807) INVERTER SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the FCM C2 connector.
      NOTE: Check connectors. Clean and repair as necessary.
    3. Measure the resistance of the (P807) Inverter Switch Signal circuit between the Inverter Switch connector and ground.

      Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  4
  4. CHECK (P807) INVERTER SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO (Z600) GROUND CIRCUIT

    1. Measure the resistance between the (P807) Inverter Switch Signal circuit and the (Z600) Ground circuit at the Inverter Switch connector.

      Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?

      Yes 

      No
