Diagnostic Test

  1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Using the scan tool, record and erase BCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    3. Cycle the ignition from on to off three times.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Using the scan tool, read active BCM DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  2

      No 

      • The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
  2. TERMINAL 15R CIRCUIT OPEN BETWEEN THE BCM AND THE EIS (CGW)

    NOTE: When performing this step, turn the ignition off (wait one minute) before disconnecting any module.
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM C1 harness connector.
    3. Disconnect the EIS (CGW) C1 harness connector.
    4. Measure the resistance of the Terminal 15R circuit between the BCM C1 harness connector and the EIS (CGW) C1 harness connector.

      Is any resistance present?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  3
  3. TERMINAL 15R CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

    1. Measure the resistance of the Terminal 15R circuit between GROUND and the EIS (CGW) C1 harness connector.

      Is the resistance above 1000.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      No
