Diagnostic Test
- PERFORM THE EPPM SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST NOTE:
If the EPPM has been replaced, the EPPM Initialization Procedure must be performed with the scan tool to clear the Unlocked DTC, DTC B2769-00 EPPM UNLOCKED-ALL DEPLOYMENT DISABLED and bring the module to a full state of readiness. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING . Please perform all steps in the sequence presented following exactly the steps to successfully complete the procedures.
WARNING:Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the Battery.
If equipped with the keyless ignition, use this ignition on warning for EPPM.
WARNING:Disconnect the 12-volt battery wait two minutes before proceeding, remove the EPPM fuse, connect the 12-volt battery, wait two minutes before proceeding. Cycle the ignition to the On position, then reconnect the EPPM fuse. Wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
If equipped with the standard key ignition, use this ignition on warning.
WARNING:Turn the ignition on, then reconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector - use the most current software available.
- With the scan tool, erase stored DTCs in all airbag system modules.
- Perform module reset.
- Exercise the EPPM System to duplicate the appropriate monitor conditions for any DTCs that were set.
- Wait one minute, and read active codes, if there are none present, read the stored codes.
- If the scan tool shows any active or stored codes, return to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX and follow the path specified for that trouble code. If no active or stored codes are present, the repair is complete.
Are any DTCs present or, is the original condition still present?
Yes
- Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
No
- If the battery was disconnected for any reason, you must perform the Battery Reconnection procedure in the 8F-Engine Systems section of the Service Information.
- If equipped with the keyless ignition, use this ignition on warning.
If equipped with the standard key ignition, use this ignition on warning.
- Repair is complete.

NOTE:Please follow the ignition on warnings for either the standard key ignition or keyless ignition for reintroducing battery voltage to the restraint airbag system.
WARNING:Disconnect the 12-volt battery wait two minutes before proceeding, remove the ORC fuses, connect the 12-volt battery, wait two minutes before proceeding. Cycle the ignition to the On position, then reconnect the ORC fuses. Wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

- Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the Battery.
