Diagnostic Test
- DETERMINE ACTIVE OR STORED DTC NOTE:
Make sure the battery is fully charged.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
Is the DTC active or stored?
ORC - ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) OR OTHER CAN BUSS DTCS
- If other communication faults exist check the CAN BUS lines for a short to ground or open. If no communication faults exist and CAN lines are functional

. Then recheck with the scan tool if the active fault still exists replace the TIPM.
Go To 2
ORC - STORED DTC
- Check for Communication from the ORC or TIPM. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- If other communication faults exist check the CAN BUS lines for a short to ground or open. If no communication faults exist and CAN lines are functional

. Then recheck with the scan tool if the active fault still exists replace the TIPM.
- REPLACE THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM)
- Turn the ignition off.
- Replace and program the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) in accordance with the service information. Refer to MODULE, TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER (TIPM), REMOVAL .
- Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector - use the most current software available.
- Using the scan tool, erase all codes in the ORC.NOTE:
The ORC Reset Function must be performed after the repair to force the module to retest for this DTC
- Perform ORC module reset. Access the Miscellaneous Function menu from the ORC ECU Overview screen on the scan tool to perform this operation.
- Wait one minute, and read active codes.
Does the U1415-Implausible/Missing Vehicle Configuration Data DTC return?
Yes

WARNING:Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Replace the ORC in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER, REMOVAL .
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

- Repair Complete.
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
