Diagnostic Test

- CHECK IF CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read Memory Seat Module-Driver (MSMD) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase MSMD DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Cycle and hold the Adjustable Pedals Switch forward and rearward.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the APS INTERMITTENT CONDITION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK CONNECTOR/TERMINAL FOR DAMAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Inspect the Memory Seat Module harness connector, Adjustable Pedals Motor, and Adjustable Pedals Motor harness connector.NOTE:
Check all terminals for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
Is the Adjustable Pedals Motor or any of the connectors/terminals damaged?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE ADJUSTABLE PEDALS ASSEMBLY FOR MECHANICAL DAMAGE
- Inspect the Adjustable Pedals Assembly for any physical damage.NOTE:
Check for any conditions that would cause the motor to stall or be stuck.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair or replace the Adjustable Pedals Assembly in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Go To 4
- Inspect the Adjustable Pedals Assembly for any physical damage.
- CHECK THE (P205) ADJUSTABLE PEDALS MOTOR FORWARD CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect the Memory Seat Module C1 harness connector.
- Disconnect the Adjustable Pedals Motor harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (P205) Adjustable Pedals Motor Forward circuit between the Memory Seat Module C1 harness connector and the Adjustable Pedals Motor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Repair the (P205) Adjustable Pedals Motor Forward circuit for an open.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE (P206) ADJUSTABLE PEDALS MOTOR REARWARD CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance of the (P206) Adjustable Pedals Motor Rearward circuit between the Memory Seat Module C1 harness connector and the Adjustable Pedals Motor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 6
No
- Repair the (P206) Adjustable Pedals Motor Rearward circuit for an open.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Measure the resistance of the (P206) Adjustable Pedals Motor Rearward circuit between the Memory Seat Module C1 harness connector and the Adjustable Pedals Motor harness connector.
- CHECK THE (G914) SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance of the (G914) Sensor Ground circuit between the Memory Seat Module C1 harness connector and the Adjustable Pedals Sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 7
No
- Repair the (G914) Sensor Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Measure the resistance of the (G914) Sensor Ground circuit between the Memory Seat Module C1 harness connector and the Adjustable Pedals Sensor harness connector.
- CHECK ADJUSTABLE PEDALS MOTOR
- Reconnect the Adjustable Pedals Sensor harness connector.
- Measure the resistance between the (P205) Adjustable Pedals Motor Forward and (P206) Adjustable Pedals Motor Rearward terminals at the Adjustable Pedals Motor component connector.
Is the resistance below 100.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace and program the Memory Seat Module (MSMD) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, MEMORY, REMOVAL .
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Replace the Adjustable Pedals Motor in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
