Gearshift Lever - Instrument Panel Mounted Removal

Place the shifter in PARK
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Remove the gearshift cable retaining clip (4) (if equipped).
Disconnect the gearshift cable (1) from the shift lever (3), and remove cable from bracket (2).
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the instrument panel bezel. Refer to BEZEL, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
Remove the instrument panel kneeblocker panel. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL .

Disconnect the gearshift lever electrical connector.

Remove the gearshift lever screw and pull the gearshift lever out of the shifter assembly.
NOTE:
The gearshift lever will remain in the vehicle.

Disconnect the gearshift cable end (1) from the shifter assembly, pull the gearshift cable bracket lock (2) outward and remove the gearshift cable from the shifter assembly bracket (3).

Remove the gearshift cable grommet (3) from the opening in the dash panel (4), and remove the gearshift cable.
