Gearshift Lever - Instrument Panel Mounted Installation

Route the gearshift cable through the dash panel (4), and install the gearshift cable grommet (3) into the hole into the dash panel (4).

Reconnect the gearshift cable (3) to the ball stud (2).
Reconnect the gearshift cable (3) to the cable bracket.
Place gearshift lever into PARK.
Raise vehicle.
NOTE:
The transmission must be in PARK.

Route gearshift cable (1) through the mounting bracket (2).
Engage the gearshift cable (1) eyelet onto the transmission manual shift lever (3).
Install the gearshift cable retaining clip (4) (if equipped).
Lower the vehicle.
Verify the transmission shifts in and out of PARK, and through all gear ranges. If necessary, adjust the gearshift cable. Refer to CABLE, SHIFT, ADJUSTMENTS .

Install the silencer panel (1), and the silencer panel fasteners.

Install the instrument panel steering column cover reinforcement (1) to the bracket (2), and install the screws (3).
Reconnect the trunk release harness connector to the trunk release switch on the knee bolster.
Install the knee bolster.
Install the knee bolster fasteners.
Install the instrument panel side trim at the end of the instrument panel.
