CAUTION:
If a new powertrain control module is being installed, use a scan tool to reprogram the new module with the original vehicle identification number (VIN) and original mileage. If this step is not performed, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will set.
- If removed, install the PCM mount (3). Tighten the bolts (2) to 5 N.m (44 in. lbs.).
- Position the PCM onto the mount.
- Install the ground wire. Tighten the nut (2) to 7 N.m (62 in. lbs.).
- Install the nuts (3) Tighten to 7 N.m (62 in. lbs.).
- Install the PCM electrical connectors.
- Connect the battery negative cable.NOTE:
If the module is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment.
