Module, Powertrain Control: Installation: Diesel

- Install the powertrain control module (PCM) (1). Tighten nuts (2) to 5 N.m (44 in. lbs.).
- Install the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and bracket into vehicle. Tighten nut to 5 N.m (44 in. lbs.).
- Connect wire harness connector (1).
- Connect and lock the PCM wire harness connectors (1, 2).
- Install the PCM wire harness connector cover (1). Tighten nuts (2) to 5 N.m (44 in. lbs.).
- Attach wire harness to bracket and connect wire harness connector (2).
- Connect the transmission wire harness connector (1).
- Install the Power Distribution Center (PDC) cover (2) and securely tighten nuts (1).
- Connect the negative battery cable.NOTE:
If a new PCM is installed, it must be programed with the original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and mileage. If this is not done, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may set.
NOTE:If a new PCM is installed. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, MODULE PROGRAMMING .
- If a new PCM is being installed, use a scan tool and program the new PCM with the original VIN and vehicle mileage.
