Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Start the Engine.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go to 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (F927) FUSED B(+) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Right Front Lamp Assembly harness connector.
- Start the Engine.
- Measure the voltage of the (F927) Fused B(+) circuit at the Right Front Lamp Assembly harness connector.
Is the voltage greater than 10.0 volts?
Yes
- Go to 3
No
- Repair the (F927) Fused B(+) circuit for an open or short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (Z902) GROUND CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (Z902) Ground circuits at the Right Front Lamp Assembly harness connector.
Is the resistance above 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the open in the (Z902) Ground circuits.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go to 4
- MEASURE THE VOLTAGE ON THE (D412) LIN BUS CIRCUIT
- Start the Engine.
- Measure the voltage on the (D412) LIN BUS circuit at the Right Front Lamp Assembly harness connector.
Is the voltage greater than 5.0 volts?
Yes
- Replace the Right Headlamp Assembly in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go to 5
- CHECK THE (D412) LIN BUS CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Check for continuity between ground and the (D412) LIN BUS circuit at the Right Front Lamp Assembly harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and the (D412) LIN BUS circuit?
Yes
- Repair the short to ground in the (D412) LIN BUS circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go to 6
- CHECK THE (D412) LIN BUS CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance of the (D412) LIN BUS circuit between the Right Front Lamp Assembly harness connector and the AFLS Module harness connector.
Is the resistance above 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the open in the (D412) LIN BUS circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFLS), REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the (D412) LIN BUS circuit between the Right Front Lamp Assembly harness connector and the AFLS Module harness connector.
