Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.
- (W552) UPFITTER CLUSTER DIMMING SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the VSIM C1 harness connector.
- Check for continuity between ground and the (W552) Upfitter Cluster Dimming Signal circuit at the VSIM C1 harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and the (W552) Upfitter Cluster Dimming Signal circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (W552) Upfitter Cluster Dimming Signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Replace the Vehicle System Interface Module (VSIM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, VEHICLE SYSTEM INTERFACE, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS
- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring harness and connectors.
- Wiggle test the wiring harness and connectors while monitoring the scan tool data relative to this circuit.
- Look for the data to change or for the DTC to reset during the wiggle test.
- Look for the data to change other than as expected or for the DTC to reset.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time.
