Module, Body Control: Installation: Installation

  1. Install the BCM (1) in the vehicle.
  2. Install the retaining nuts to the BCM.
  3. Connect the BCM electrical connectors.
    WARNING:

    Do not connect the battery negative cable. Serious or fatal injury may result if the system test is not performed first.

  4. Install drivers side cowl/kick panel. Refer to PANEL, COWL TRIM, SIDE, INSTALLATION .
  5. Reconnect the negative battery cable to the negative battery terminal.
NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu  .
