Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTCS
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, create a Vehicle Scan Report and attach it to the repair order.
- Check for all BCM configuration, CAN C hardware electrical, VIN Missing/Mismatch, Battery or Ignition related DTCs before proceeding.
Are there any related DTCs active?
Yes
- Repair the DTC(s) in accordance with Service Information.
No
- Go To 2
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC IN THE RF HUB
- With the scan tool, read RF Hub DTCs
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the Stored Lost Communication DTCs diagnostic procedure. Refer to STORED LOST COMMUNICATION DTCS .
- With the scan tool, read RF Hub DTCs
- VERIFY THE ESM IS ACTIVE ON THE BUS
- With the scan tool, view all modules.
- Verify the ESM is active on the bus.
Is the ESM active on the bus?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Perform the NO RESPONSE FROM ESM diagnostic procedure. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information .
- CHECK ALL MODULES FOR COMMUNICATION DTCS
- With the scan tool, view all modules.
Is there more than one module with communication DTCs logged against the ESM?
Yes
- Replace the ESM module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to the appropriate service information .
No
- Go To 5
- With the scan tool, view all modules.
- ERASE THE DTC
- With the scan tool erase DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read RF Hub DTCs
Is this DTC active?
Yes
- Replace the RF Hub Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, RADIO FREQUENCY (RF HUB), REMOVAL .
- Perform the RADIO FREQUENCY HUB VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RADIO FREQUENCY HUB (RF HUB) VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the Stored Lost Communication DTC diagnostic procedure. Refer to STORED LOST COMMUNICATION DTCS .
