Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read DTCM DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITIONS TEST. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- DRIVETRAIN CONTROL MODULE (DTCM) TERRAIN SELECTOR SWITCH
- Check that the LOW button is operating correctly, in particular that it is not stuck.
Is the low range button stuck?
Yes
- Replace the Terrain switch in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION PROCEDURE. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Go To 3
- Check that the LOW button is operating correctly, in particular that it is not stuck.
- BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)
- With the scan tool, check for BCM DTCs.
Were any BCM DTCs found?
Yes
- Diagnose those DTCs in accordance with the diagnostic information.
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITIONS TEST. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- With the scan tool, check for BCM DTCs.
