Steering System: Pump: Installation
- Position power steering pump (2) on engine.
- Install three power steering pump mounting bolts (1) and tighten mounting bolts to the proper specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install supply hose (2) on fitting of power steering pump (1). Install hose clamp on return hose past upset bead on pump fitting.NOTE:
The pressure hose quick-connect is a one-time use component and must be replaced anytime the pressure hose is disconnected at the power steering pump. It cannot be removed from the pressure hose once installed.
- Install power steering pressure hose (2) and quick-connect. Refer to HOSE, POWER STEERING, PRESSURE, INSTALLATION .
- Install accessory drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
- Install air cleaner. Refer to AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the battery negative (-) cable to battery negative battery terminal.
- Fill and bleed power steering system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Check for leaks.
