Transmission Verification Test-8HP70

- Reinstall any removed components.
- Reconnect any disconnected electrical connectors.
- With the scan tool, erase TCM DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase ESM DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase ABS DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase PCM DTCs.CAUTION:
Apply the parking brake.
- With the scan tool, display the Transmission Temperature.
- Start the engine and allow the transmission fluid temperature to reach 43° C (110° F).
- Check for Transmission fluid leaks.
- If internal transmission components were repaired or replaced check the Transmission fluid level and adjust if necessary. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - CHECK OIL LEVEL .
- If any internal transmission repairs were performed or the Transmission Control Module (TCM) was replaced, perform the TCM ADAPTATION procedure. Refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) ADAPTATION .
- Perform the ROAD TEST PROCEDURE
ROAD TEST PROCEDURE
- Operate the vehicle in a manner that will allow 15-20 upshifts through all of the gears.
- Allow these shifts to occur from 0 kPh (0 mph) to 72 kPh (45 mph) with a constant throttle opening of 20 to 25 degrees.
- Operate the vehicle below 40 kPh (25 mph) and then perform a throttle kick-down maneuver to 1st gear. Do this several times from below 40 kPh (25 mph).
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
Did any TCM DTCs set?
Yes
- Repair TCM DTCs. Refer to DTC INDEX .
No
- Test complete.
