Pump, Fuel Injection: Description
A single piston pump (2) mounted to the engine block, used to deliver fuel under high pressure to the fuel rail and is equipped with a fuel quantity solenoid (1). The fuel injection pump is driven by the timing chain. Pressure is generated independently of the injection process. The pump is lubricated with diesel fuel and is not responsible for fuel injection timing.
