Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
- CHECK RIGHT LEVELING MOTOR
- With the scan tool monitor the DTC conditions for AHLM.
- Disconnect the Right Front Lamp Motor.
- Turn the ignition off for 10 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
Does the U1102-00 show as Stored and U1103-00 as Active?
Yes
- Replace the Right Front Lamp Motor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Reconnect the Right Front Lamp Motor.
- Go To 4
- CHECK LEFT LEVELING MOTOR
- With the scan tool monitor the DTC conditions for AHLM.
- Disconnect the Left Front Lamp Motor.
- Turn the ignition off for 10 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
Does the U1103-00 show as Stored and U1102-00 Show as Active?
Yes
- Replace the Left Front Lamp Motor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 5
- CHECK THE (F927) FUSED IGNITION CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Right Front Lamp Motor harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (F927) Fused Ignition circuit in the Right Front Lamp Motor harness connector.NOTE:
The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 6
No
- Repair the (F927) Fused Run Relay Output circuit for an open or short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (Z909) GROUND CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12 volts, check the (Z909) Ground circuit in the Right Front Lamp Motor harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 7
No
- Repair the (Z909) Ground circuit(s) for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (D504) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Disconnect the Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage of the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit.
Is there voltage present?
Yes
- Replace the Right Front Lamp Motor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 8
- CHECK THE (D504) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit.
Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 9
- CHECK THE (D504) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance of the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit between the Right Front Lamp Motor harness connector and the AHLM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP LEVELING (AHLM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit between the Right Front Lamp Motor harness connector and the AHLM harness connector.
