Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes

      • Go To  2

      No

      • Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
    1. Refer to the recorded DTCs.

      Is U1102-00 DTC Active?

      Yes

      • Go To  3

      No

      • Go To  5
  3. CHECK RIGHT LEVELING MOTOR
    1. With the scan tool monitor the DTC conditions for AHLM.
    2. Disconnect the Right Front Lamp Motor.
    3. Turn the ignition off for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the ignition on.

Does the U1102-00 show as Stored and U1103-00 as Active?

      Yes

      No

      • Reconnect the Right Front Lamp Motor.
      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK LEFT LEVELING MOTOR
    1. With the scan tool monitor the DTC conditions for AHLM.
    2. Disconnect the Left Front Lamp Motor.
    3. Turn the ignition off for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the ignition on.

Does the U1103-00 show as Stored and U1102-00 Show as Active?

      Yes

      No

      • Go To  5
  5. CHECK THE (F927) FUSED IGNITION CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Right Front Lamp Motor harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (F927) Fused Ignition circuit in the Right Front Lamp Motor harness connector.
      NOTE:

The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.

Does the test light illuminate brightly?

      Yes

      • Go To  6

      No

      • Repair the (F927) Fused Run Relay Output circuit for an open or short to ground.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  6. CHECK THE (Z909) GROUND CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12 volts, check the (Z909) Ground circuit in the Right Front Lamp Motor harness connector.

Does the test light illuminate brightly?

      Yes

      • Go To  7

      No

      • Repair the (Z909) Ground circuit(s) for an open or high resistance.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  7. CHECK THE (D504) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO VOLTAGE
    1. Disconnect the Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) harness connector.
    2. Turn the ignition on.
    3. Measure the voltage of the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit.

      Is there voltage present?

      Yes

      No

      • Go To  8
  8. CHECK THE (D504) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit.

Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?

      Yes

      • Repair the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit for a short to ground.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No

      • Go To  9
  9. CHECK THE (D504) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
    1. Measure the resistance of the (D504) LIN Lighting circuit between the Right Front Lamp Motor harness connector and the AHLM harness connector.

Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

      Yes
