Diagnostic Test
- CHECK IF THE DTC IS ACTIVE
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN THE LEFT AND RIGHT RADIO SWITCHES AND THE SCCM
- With the scan tool, view the switch status. Status can be viewed in the SCCM data display.
- While monitoring the Upshift and Downshift switch status with the scan tool, actuate each switch multiple times.
- With the scan tool, note the left and right paddle switch that does not change.WARNING:
Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
WARNING:Do not place an intact non-deployed airbag face down on a hard surface, the airbag propels into the air if accidentally deployed. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Disconnect the Remote Radio Switch that did not change.
- Visually and physically inspect the wiring harness between the Remote Radio Switch harness connectors and the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) harness connector. Repair any damaged wires, connectors, and open/spread terminals.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE REMOTE RADIO SWITCH (PADDLE SHIFTER)
- Replace the Remote Radio Switch that did not change in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SWITCH, REMOTE RADIO, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST

Did this DTC reset?
Yes
- Replace the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, STEERING COLUMN CONTROL (SCCM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test Complete
