Dual Pane

DUAL PANE SUNROOF - There are two procedures for initialization & obstacle detection calibration. Select the appropriate procedure that fits the scenario  :

PROCEDURE 1: Initialization & Obstacle Detection Calibration. Procedure 1 must be followed when a new service replacement motor is installed.  Use the appropriate procedure for sunroof or power sunshade depending on which motor was replaced.

SUNROOF: 

The following procedure must be followed only when new replacement service motor is installed.

  1. Start vehicle engine.
  2. Cycle sunshade to the half open or full open position (if sunshade & glass motors were both replaced complete the POWER SUNSHADE Initialization & Obstacle Detection Calibration procedure first).
  3. Press and hold the sunroof VENT switch. Sunroof motor will activate and drive into the vent hard stop, stall and stop (an audible click will be heard from the motor).
  4. Release the sunroof VENT switch after all motion has stopped; initialization is complete.
  5. Press & hold the sunroof CLOSE switch to cycle glass from vent to closed position.
  6. Press & hold the sunroof OPEN switch to cycle glass from closed to open position.
  7. Press & hold the sunroof CLOSE switch to cycle glass from open to closed position.
  8. Press & hold the sunroof VENT switch to cycle glass from closed to vent position.
  9. Press & hold the sunroof CLOSE switch to cycle glass from vent to closed position.
  10. Repeat steps 6-9 until a total of five complete open, close, vent cycles have been completed to calibrate the obstacle detection system.
  11. Confirm sunroof glass express operation (press & release switch) is functional for open, vent and close operations.

POWER SUNSHADE: 

The following procedure must be followed only when new replacement service motor is installed.

  1. Start vehicle engine.
  2. If the sunroof glass motor was not replaced insure the sunroof glass is in closed position.
  3. Press and hold the power sunshade CLOSE switch. Sunshade motor will activate and drive forward into the closed position hard stop, stall and stop (an audible click will be heard from the motor).
  4. Release the power sunshade CLOSE switch after all motion has stopped; re-initialization is complete.
  5. Press & hold the power sunshade OPEN switch to cycle sunshade to half open position.
  6. Press & hold the power sunshade OPEN switch again to cycle sunshade to full open position.
  7. Press & hold the power sunshade CLOSE switch to cycle sunshade to full closed position.
  8. Repeat steps 5-7 until a total of five complete open/close cycles have been completed to calibrate the obstacle detection system.
  9. If sunroof glass motor was also replaced proceed to SUNROOF Initialization & Obstacle Detection Calibration procedure.
  10. Confirm power sunshade express operation (press & release switch) is functional for open and close operations.

PROCEDURE 2: Re-initialization & Obstacle Detection Calibration: 

Procedure 2 must be followed to re-initialize sunroof and calibrate obstacle detection when one of the following are true: 

SUNROOF: 

  1. Set vehicle ignition switch to ON/RUN.
  2. Press the sunroof VENT switch to cycle the glass into vent position.
  3. Open the driver side front door (to prevent accessory delay ignition state).
  4. Switch the vehicle ignition to OFF.
  5. Within 2 seconds, switch the vehicle ignition back to ACCESSORY.
  6. Within 2 seconds, press and hold the sunroof VENT switch. After 10 seconds of holding switch the re-initialization process will be begin. Sunroof motor will activate and drive into the vent hard stop, stall and stop (an audible click will be heard from the motor).
  7. Release the sunroof VENT switch after all motion has stopped; re-initialization is complete.
  8. Start vehicle engine.
  9. Press & release the sunroof CLOSE switch to cycle glass from vent to closed position.
  10. Press & release the sunroof OPEN switch to cycle glass from closed to open position.
  11. Press & release the sunroof CLOSE switch to cycle glass from open to closed position.
  12. Press & release the sunroof VENT switch to cycle glass from closed to vent position.
  13. Press & release the sunroof CLOSE switch to cycle glass from vent to closed position.
  14. Repeat steps 10-13 until a total of five complete open, close, vent cycles have been completed to calibrate the obstacle detection system.

POWER SUNSHADE: 

  1. Set vehicle ignition switch to ON/RUN.
  2. Close the sunroof glass panel.
  3. Press the power sunshade CLOSE switch to cycle sunshade to closed position.
  4. Open the driver side front door (to prevent accessory delay ignition state).
  5. Switch vehicle ignition to OFF.
  6. Within 2 seconds, switch the vehicle ignition back to ACCESSORY.
  7. Within 2 seconds, press and hold the power sunshade CLOSE switch. After 10 seconds the re-initialization process will begin. Sunshade motor will activate and drive forward into the closed position hard stop, stall and stop (an audible click will be heard from the motor).
  8. Release the power sunshade CLOSE switch after all motion has stopped; re-initialization is complete.
  9. Start vehicle engine.
  10. Press & release the power sunshade OPEN switch to cycle sunshade to half open position.
  11. Press & release the power sunshade OPEN switch again to cycle sunshade to full open position.
  12. Press & release the power sunshade CLOSE switch to cycle sunshade to full closed position.
  13. Repeat steps 10-12 until a total of five complete open/close cycles have been completed to calibrate the obstacle detection system.
