Diagnostic Test
CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)
NOTE:
Diagnose and repair any BCM VIN or Communication DTCs before continuing with this test.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Verify the correct vehicle configuration is programmed in the BCM.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Use the scan tool to read DTCs in all other modules and verify correct OCM part number. If any communication DTCs are present, perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that apply. If no problems are found, replace the Occupant Classification Module and seat cushion foam in accordance with Service Information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION (OCM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
