Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
Is the DTC active or pending?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Refer to STORED LOST COMMUNICATION DTCS and perform the Stored Lost Communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.
- STEERING ANGLE SENSOR (SAS) COMMUNICATION RELATED DTCS IN OTHER MODULES
- With the scan tool, read DTCs that are present in all modules.
Is there more than one module with active DTCs for the SAS at this time?
Yes
- Replace and program the SAS / CLOCKSPRING in accordance with the Service Information.
No
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, read DTCs that are present in all modules.
