Module, Vehicle System Interface (VSIM): Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the steering column opening cover to access the VSIM. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL .

  3. Disconnect the wire harness connectors from the VSIM.
  4. Press the release tab on the VSIM bracket and remove the module.
