Module, Anti-Lock Brake System (Abs): Removal
- Remove and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to 3.6L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL
or 5.7L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL
or 6.2L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL
or 6.4L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL

- Disconnect the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) electrical connector (3).
- Remove the Antilock Brake System (ABS) module retaining fasteners (1).
- Remove the brake line flare nut (1).
- Disengage the brake line from the routing clip and position it aside.CAUTION:
When removing the ABS module from the HCU, be sure to completely separate the two components approximately 38 mm (1.5 in.) straight out before moving module to the side. Otherwise, damage to the pressure sensor or Pump Motor connection may result requiring HCU replacement. Do not to touch the sensor terminals on the module side or the contact pads on the HCU side as this may result in contamination and issues in the future.
- To remove the ABS module (3) from the vehicle, pull the ABS module straight out to the brake lines (4), moving it toward the outside of the vehicle, then forward and around the brake lines.
