Forward Facing Camera Module (FCCM)
REMOVAL
NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the interior rear view mirror trim covers to gain access to the FFCM.
1 - Interior Rearview Mirror Trim Covers - Disconnect the wire harness connector from the FFCM.
1 - Wire Harness Connector - Release the side retainers for the support, from the side guides of the FFCM.
1a - Side Retainers 1b - Side Guides 1c - FFCM 2 - FCCM Removal Direction Arrow - Turn the FFCM in the direction shown in the illustration by the arrow and remove it, freeing it from its seat on the mounting.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
NOTE:
Ensure that both inside and outside of the windshield in the area of the FFCM is clean of dirt, dust, or finger prints prior to installation.
- If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Perform module programming. Refer to PROGRAMMING AND CALIBRATION .
