Entertainment Multimedia Control Module

1 - EMCM

On vehicles equipped with the Entertainment Multimedia Control Module (EMCM) it is located on the instrument panel below the base Radio or premium Display Screen Module (DSM) if equipped, and above the Integrated Center Stack Module (ICSM).

The main menus are accessible using the EMCM for the following:

There are various submenus dedicated to the required functions found in the main menus.

OPERATION 

The EMCM control knob operates the radio functions, as well as selection between different features of the multimedia system. Both the volume and EMCM control knobs operate based on customer action; which can be twisted, shifted in all four directions, or pressed. The volume control knob connects to the EMCM through a LIN connection, where the module is the main, or master. There is also a separate circuit to control knob backlight, which is at the base of the knob. The EMCM connects to the CAN-IHS bus; and communicates separately, the customer volume input request signal to the ETM.

Zoom + / - (maps)
Press knob Brief: confirm (OK)
Long: save radio presetting
Turn right Open submenu
Move rightwards (maps)
Hold pressed to open the navigator control bar
Turn left Go to the previous menu level/go back
Move leftwards (maps)
Move knob upwards Open Multitasking menu
Move upwards (maps)
Hold pressed to exit radio presetting bar
Move knob downwards Open Navigator or Phone (if active and shown on notification bar)
Exit Multitasking menu
Move downwards (maps)
Hold pressed to open radio presetting bar
Menu button Go back to main menu
Option button Button for rapidly accessing general and shortcut settings
